Whenever you consider using homemade natural preparations, consult your dermatologist beforehand.

Quick masks, made from natural ingredients, are an excellent option to take care of the skin. Of course, depending on your skin type, one ingredient will be more beneficial than the other. Therefore, it is advisable to choose the right ingredients.

The following natural ingredients that we are going to discuss have a pleasant texture and are easy to handle. In addition, they are nourishing and have excellent properties for the skin that range from providing hydration to providing smoothness.

These quick masks can be used as many times as needed during the week. The only thing to worry about is purchasing quality organic ingredients for the best results.

Before moving on to the recipes for quick masks, we have to tell you that there are ingredients that you should never apply to your face: lemon juice (or other citrus fruits), baking soda, vinegar and garlic. All of these ingredients can cause counterproductive reactions, such as irritation, blemishes, dryness, among others. Be cautious and always consult your dermatologist in case of doubts.

What-are-the-masks-for

What are masks for?

Masks are a cosmetic product that can be the product of one or more substances, of different origin (vegetable, animal or artificial). They are applied to the skin, for a minimum of 30 minutes, in order to improve the appearance of the skin in terms of: hydration, softness and nutrition.

The skin suffers a lot from the consequences of pollution, a nutrient-deficient diet, stress, the weather, etc., therefore, we must provide it, from time to time,  additional care, to keep it in good condition.

To be able to choose the appropriate mask, it is essential to know the type of skin and the respective needs, in order to obtain the benefits that are desired. Otherwise, there will be no results.

Quick masks for every skin type

Avocado mask

Normal skin

With a ripe avocado, you can make a good quick mask for normal skin. You just have to extract the pulp, crush it well and apply it to a clean and dry face, for approximately 15-20 minutes. Once this time has passed, the face is rinsed, the usual moisturizer is applied and that’s it.

Dry Skin

For dry skin you can prepare a quick mask by combining a little oatmeal, the yolk of 1 egg and a little olive oil; These three ingredients will help to deeply hydrate and soften the skin and, thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of oats, it will also help eliminate puffiness (if any).

Oily skin

Aloe-internal

For oily skin, an excellent option for making a quick mask is to extract, cleanse, and apply the aloe vera crystal to clean, dry skin. Once fully absorbed, no rinsing is necessary.

Mixed skin

Combination skin can benefit greatly from two ingredients in particular: coconut oil and ripe banana. Both have properties that help hydrate and soften the skin, without promoting dryness or stimulating sebum production.

To prepare this mask, you must process the banana (with everything and its peel) with the help of a hand mixer and add a dash of coconut oil (no more than 10 g).

Acne-prone skin

Both yogurt and clay (green) are natural products that greatly benefit acne-prone skin. They help to cleanse the skin in depth, remove impurities, hydrate and soften the skin, without stimulating the production of sebum.

When preparing the mask, it will be necessary to use glass, wooden or ceramic utensils, since this way the clay will better preserve its properties. Plastic and metal utensils should be avoided.

Mature skin

A quick mask for mature skin is simply to combine a little (raw) egg white with a little rosehip oil. In order for them to mix well, the white must be beaten beforehand.  Another option is to prepare a mask based on brewer’s yeast and natural yogurt.

To consider

Quick masks are not a “cure” for signs of aging or impurities, although they can help improve the appearance of the skin. For a more far-reaching treatment, you should consult with your dermatologist and, of course, maintain a healthy lifestyle.
