How To Make An Oven Cleaner Based On Natural Products?

Having a good oven cleaner is essential today, since the oven is the appliance that is probably the most dirty in the kitchen.

It is usually full of grease and debris, and if it is not cleaned frequently, it can fill the house with smoke each time it is used and even change the aroma, flavor, and cooking time of food.

Depending on the frequency of use and the type of food being cooked, the time interval between each cleaning will need to vary. The most common is once a month to avoid the accumulation of dirt.

It is important to try not to use chemicals, as they can cause burns and skin allergies. Using natural products within easy reach will help reduce the strong ecological impact generated by the most polluting products.

Natural-based oven cleaner

Here are two cleaners with completely natural and inexpensive products. In addition, they can be used perfectly in any type of oven, be it gas or electric.

Solid Yeast Oven Cleaner

Yeast Oven Cleaner
Yeast is a product that is widely used in doughs and breads. It is  a single-celled fungus that produces enzymes capable of breaking down various organic bodies into simpler ones. Taking advantage of this feature, we are going to create an oven cleaner.

What is needed:

  • Baking powder (100 grams)
  • Water (1 liter)
  • Spray bottle (1)
  • A dish cloth or sponge
  • Vinegar (250 ml)
  • Container (1)

How does it apply:

  • Remove all racks and brackets from inside the oven.
  • Take the container and place the yeast (100 grams).
  • Add water  (2 tablespoons) and form a paste.
  • Spread the pasta inside the oven, covering the entire surface. The yeast will change color to brown.
  • Leave it to act for 12 hours.
  • Clean with a damp cloth, trying to remove most of the yeast.
  • Take the sprayer and pour the vinegar (250 ml).
  • Apply vinegar on the leftover yeast (it will foam).
  • Remove the foam with a damp cloth. This will remove any leftover yeast that has attached to the vinegar.
  • Place the supports and grill.
  • Turn the oven on low for 30 minutes to dry.

Baking soda and vinegar oven cleaner

Baking soda is an excellent cleaning product. It is quite abrasive, which helps to remove difficult stains, and also deodorizes, since it absorbs bad odors.

When combined with vinegar, a degreasing agent that removes oil and dirt without damaging, we will obtain an excellent, totally natural product for cleaning the oven.

Oven cleaner: baking soda and vinegar

What is needed:

  • Baking soda (2 tablespoons)
  • Water (2 tablespoons)
  • White vinegar
  • Dish towel
  • Mug (1)
  • Gloves for protection
  • Plastic spatula or brush

How does it apply:

  • Remove all racks and supports from the  oven.
  • Take the cup and add the baking soda (2 tablespoons).
  • Add the water (2 tablespoons).
  • Mix well to form a paste.
  • Distribute the paste throughout the interior.  Also apply it on the glass of the oven door.
  • Rub with gloves and a brush, or spatula.
  • Leave it to act for 12 hours.
  • Dampen a kitchen towel and remove all the paste.
  • If necessary, scrape with a spatula.

Cleaning the oven will be much faster and easier with either of these two products, since they are extremely effective.

Being natural they will not have chemical compounds that damage the skin, nor strong odors like commercial products. To this must be added its low cost. Go ahead and try them!
