Strawberry Shortcake with Oreo Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • Oreo cookies (330 g).
  • Melted butter (110 g).
  • Milk (20 ml).
  • Chocolate for cooking, that can be melted easily.
  • Whipping cream, you can use if you want one that is low in fat (200 ml).
  • Strawberry jam (100 g).
  • 8 strawberries
  • Chopped almonds to decorate.

Utensils

  • A 12 cm X 36 cm mold (you will have about 8 servings).
  • Bowl.
  • Fork.
  • Spoon.
  • Saucepan.

Preparation

  1. We will start with the butter. Melt it for a few minutes in the microwave but taking care that it does not boil or runny .
  2.  We put the  Oreo cookies in a bowl and begin to crush them with the help of a fork. Get a finite powder that we will then mix with the butter and milk.
  3. Mix all the ingredients well: the crushed cookies, milk and butter until you get a paste with an attractive color but not too lumpy.
  4. Brush the mold with a little butter.
  5. Place the mixture in the mold and with the help of a spoon press to make it body and be well compact. Take special care of the corners, they are very important so that the filling can be contained.
  6. Now we go to the fire. With the help of a saucepan, heat the cream a little. Once it starts to boil, remove it and add the chocolate for desserts. It should be melted and well mixed with the cream.
  7. We take the mold out of our freezer and add the  strawberry jam. You must distribute it well in all the corners and the center.
  8. Pour in the melted chocolate mixture.

How to assemble the cake

  1. We must clean the strawberries, and cut them in half. We must place them on the chocolate base.
  2. We chop  the almonds to sprinkle our homemade cake. If you want, you can buy almonds already ready to decorate, but if you grind them yourself, the flavor will be much more intense.
  3. Once the cake is decorated and ready, we take it to the refrigerator for two hours.
  4. When serving it, it is interesting that instead of cutting the cake into straight portions, you do it in triangles.
  5. That way it looks much more attractive on the plate, and we play with the shapes of the strawberries.
