Prepare Hazelnut And Chocolate Truffles
Many good dessert recipes can be made, such as cookies, vegetable cheeses, or muffins. However, hazelnut truffles are especially easy to prepare and taste spectacular. Therefore, they are the favorite dessert of many people.
There is no reason to give up sweets when it comes to eating a balanced diet. Nor even if you are trying to lose weight or want to follow a healthy lifestyle. The important thing is to properly select the ingredients. Avoid those that are harmful, such as processed products or refined sweeteners, and select healthy foods such as nuts or dates.
It is important to always consume each food in adequate amounts, and never overindulge. Desserts, specifically, it is recommended that you eat them in moderation. But that does not exclude that the fact of enjoying some simple and delicious chocolate and hazelnut truffles from time to time.
Necessary ingredients and utensils
To prepare the hazelnut and chocolate truffle dessert, it will be necessary to have the following elements;
- 50 grams of sugar and 100 grams of toasted hazelnuts without skin.
- 100 grams of hazelnut cream and 150 grams of dark chocolate.
- 25 grams of heavy cream and 75 grams of butter.
- 1 egg yolk and 25 grams of cocoa powder.
- 50 grams of powdered sugar.
The utensils you will have to count on include 2 pots for the bain-marie and a cutting knife. You will also need a grinder and containers to reserve the ingredients. Finally, it will be good to have a round truffle mold on hand.
Preparation of hazelnut truffles with chocolate
First, crush the hazelnuts with a knife or put them in the grinder until they are small, but do not let them pulverize. The idea is that they add texture to the truffles. Divide into two halves and reserve in separate containers.
Then, chop the chocolate into small pieces and reserve. After that, prepare the bain-marie and melt the butter. Once the butter is ready, put the chocolate and when they are well mixed, proceed to place the milk cream.
When you have a creamy and smooth mixture, add the white sugar and stir very well, until the sugar crystals have been discarded.
Finally, add one of the parts that you have reserved of the hazelnuts and the egg yolk. Stir vigorously and remove the chocolate from the heat. Pour some of the chocolate into the molds, just to slightly cover the bottom and edge of the molds.
So, put the rest of the chocolate back on the heat, but this time put it low. Refrigerate the mold for a few minutes, until the chocolate takes consistency. Put a small spoonful of hazelnut spread inside each truffle, right in the center. Sprinkle some hazelnuts inside.
After that, cover the rest of the mold with the remaining chocolate and put the mold back in the fridge for 20 minutes. Then, remove the truffles from the mold carefully so as not to damage them and pass them through a container with the cocoa powder. Finish the decoration by sprinkling them with the powdered sugar.
Interesting facts about hazelnut truffles
It is important to pay attention that the mixture is not too sticky and mushy. Also not so dry that it is impossible to unite the dough.
If it is very sticky, you can solve the problem by adding more solid ingredients such as cocoa or dates. Or put the dough in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes before making the balls. If, on the other hand, it is very dry, add more maple syrup or any other molasses or syrup. Make sure you cover the edges of the mold well with the chocolate, otherwise the filling will spill out as soon as you unmold.
In the same way, if you do not have a truffle mold, you can fill a pastry bag with the chocolate when it is warm and, with the help of a thick nozzle, make mounds on a tray lined with baking paper.
